After the cliffhanger at the end of Season 6, the Walking Dead’s premiere is maybe the most anticipated one among the shows that will premiere in the fall.
As you remember, the 6th season ended with Negan killing one of the survivors in Rick’s group. Since that happend in April, the fans have been going crazy about whom Negan brutally killed and had many complaints against the show’s producers as it seemed unfair to leave them hanging with such a cliffhanger.
Now, it is true that the showrunners would not kill Rick as he is the main character and I think killing Daryl would also cause a lot of rage and loss of juice for the show. However, rest of the characters are not that safe. That being said, Michael Cudlitz, the actor starring as the ginger soldier/hunk Abraham spilled some beans on his character’s fate in the show. He kinda actually confirmed that Abraham is not the one whose head was bashed by Negan. Here is the statement the actor gave during an interview with Pop Sugar (while speaking about Denise’s death):
Her death spurs on a whole bunch of other stuff, and then the audience knows that Abraham will continue for a while now. Now we get to see what a world with Negan and Abraham both in it will be like. That’s something we don’t see in the graphic novels. So a lot of cool stuff happens. For me, knowing that his potential death had come and gone, it was a moment to go, ‘Oh cool, they really aren’t going to stick with what the graphic novel does.’ As a fan of both the novel and the show, it was cool.
It does seem like Abraham is safe, does not it? Well, we’ll have to wait and see. The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 23.
