Famous comic book writer and entrepreneur Todd McFarlane had been working a lot on a brand new reboot film for Spawn franchise for a long time now. He is about to be finishing up with the script. McFarlane is also sure that the production will start some time soon.
The first movie was a moderate success at the box office but got some positive reviews from the critics. McFarlane waited a long time to make it really happen this time. For 18 years now, since 1998, the movie has bee passing many different stages and finally things are coming to an end in terms of pre-production.
Comic Book released a shot videdo clip from an interview with McFarlane about the current stiuation of the Spawn reboot. When he was asked about the status, McFarlane said point blank “The simple answer is yes,” and the new movie would be going to a different way with “a dark, R-rated, scary, badass sort of script.” He added details as to what viewer might expect to see from the reboot movie:
“In the background, there’s this thing moving around, this boogeyman. That boogeyman just happens to be something that you and I, intellectually, know is Spawn. Will he look like he did in the first movie? No. Will he have a supervillain he fights? No. He’s going to be the spectre, the ghost.“
