Agatha Christie’s works are becoming popular for the cinema world these days. Benn Affleck will be producing Witness for Prosecution for the big screen while Kenneth Branagh will be directing a movie adaptation for Murder on the Orient Express as a remake of 1974 crime drama by the hands of Sidney Lumet. It focuses on detective Hercule Poirot who is assigned to solve the death of a rich American on a train.
Branagh’s cast is made of some important names like Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Pena, Daisy Ridley and Judi Dench but it seems like there is more. Famous latina actress Penelope Cruz just joined the cast.
Deadline reports that Cruz will be acting in the movie although the specifics of the role is not known yet. Probably, she will be playing one of 13 suspects Poirot will investigate in relation to the murder. The mystery has to be revealed soon as the production is about to start.
