Marvel Cinematic Universe has been expanding on TV thanks in part to the company’s collaboration with Netflix. With the second season of Daredevil and the first season of Luke Cage, 2016 played an important part for Marvel’s TV corner and it will continue to grow in 2017 with Iron Fist having its first season in 2017 and The Defenders following it.
Uniting the heroes of Netflix’s Marvel series, namely Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones), The Defenders will be a limited team-up series of 8 episodes in which our heroes will try to save New York City. The filming already started and the casting news has been coming for the supporting cast for a long time now.
The latest addition to the names of cast members confirmed by Netflix was announced via The Defenders Twitter account. It is official that Jessica Henwick (as Colleen Wing from the upcoming Iron Fist series) will be coming back for The Defenders. Here is the actual tweet:
