Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 2 was completed with the release of Ant-Man after long years of development porblems. In addition to introducing Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Ant-Man also presented Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym’s (played by Michael Douglas) daughter. While the movie did not turn her into The Wasp, the teaser during the ending credits kind of set the stage for it. Later, the sequel was announced with Ant-Man and the Wasp confirming Lilly’s co-start status in the next movie.
Peyton Reed will do what other directors did not have the chance to do until now: she will bring the Wasp to life on big screen. Morever, the Wasp will appear in other Marvel movies.
During an interview with Blaster at New York Comic Con, Lilly was asked about the future plans for the Wasp and she confirmed she will be in the fourth Avengers movie (not in Avengers: Infinity War) Here’s Evangeline Lilly’s statement.
“I’m excited because its essentially going to be, um, the origin of the Wasp. Of course, we’re going to see the Wasp for the first time take on the mantle, and put on the suit, and fly about, and do her thing. Following that one, there’s an Avengers series coming out, I believe its a two parter, and, um, the Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part because they want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp.”
