With a built-in audience, it is always risky to adapt a movie into a TV series, however, if you can manage it, well, you have a built in audience. The latest examples to movie adaptations to small screen could be given as Twelve Monkeys and Daredevil, these are both doing good jobs on TV right about now. Many more are on the way like The Lost boys and The Departed.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, another movie is joining the club. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is about to be developed for TV adaptation. The 2004 movie was about a couple (played by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) who erased each other from their memories after they broke up. The movie was critically acclaimed owing to the amazing performances of the leads and the narrative. It won an Oscar for the best original screenplay.
The report says that the TV series is still in its early stages and will be produced by Anonymous Content and Universal Cable Productions. You can remember Anonymous Content from the shows like Mr. Robot and True Detective. Zev Borow (Chuck) will be writing the pilot. It sure as hell will be interesting to watch, let’s hope the original movie is not ruined.
