It was kind of (spoilers for the people who have not watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens) heartbreaking when Han Solo died in this years Star Wars movie. Lucas Film will not let him go so easily though. The new solo movie about Han “Solo” will be about the younger years of everbody’s famous smuggler.
The spinoff movie will hit the theaters in May 2018 and will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Alden Ehrenreich will be playing Han Solo for which might be a trilogy form what we hear.
The filming will start in January 2017 and this is the reason the production team needs to cast the members of the movie. Lando Calrissian was a character about whom most of Star Wars fans were curious. Turns out he, his younger self will be included in the movie, better yet he will be played by a talented actor. That actor is Donald Glover of Community who has been a pretty good job with the newcomer show of this fall, Atlanta.
The news was officially confirmed by a release on starwars.com web site. Han Solo will feature Donald Glover as Calrissian “in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld” before he became the administrator of Bespin’s Cloud City.
