Comic books became a huge source material for TV shows in these last years and, boy, they did turn great profit for the networks. Among those are Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Daredevil and Jessica Jones are the ones the come to mind first.
Greg Berlanti was working on a new project for Black Lightning and it turns out Fox just snatched it. Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil a husband and wife writing team will be writing the script for the series which just got the approval from Fox for a pilot episıde.
Black Lightning is one of DC Comics’ first African-American superheroes whcih was first presented to readers in 1977. Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden were the creators behind the character.

Warner Bros TV will be producing the series which will be executive produced by the Akils, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.
