When someone says Sylvester Stallone, without a doubt, one of the first things that come to mind is the Rambo franchise – the Rocky franchise being another one. The Rambo series featured 4 movies to the day with the last one bringing back the action hero for the new generation in 2008.
Based on the 1972 novel by David Morrell, Rambo had the significant distinction of bringing many of the issues facing returned Vietnam veterans to light when it hit the big screen. Issues of PTSD and problems with reintegration had gone largely ignored by the public until then.
The rumor suggesting a comeback from John Rambo were around for a long time now and Sylvester Stallone has alredy confirmed them in 2014. However, the plans were put on hold after it was announced a TV series might be the way to bring back the franchise after which Stallone announced that he was retired as the character.
On the other hand, according to THR, a Rambo movie reboot is on the way and it is titled Rambo: New Blood. It will feature another actor as the action hero and it might be the start of a new Rambo series. Ariel Vromen (Criminal) was confirmed to direct the movie and the script will be written Brooks McLaren.
