Kevin Hart is one of the most importabnt comedy starts right now. He does stanup so well while also doing a great job for comedy movies for big screen. We might say that he is at the peak of his career now. Ice Cube, although not as famous as Hart, is another very talented comedy actor turned from a rapper.
These two actors first worked together in Ride Along, a 2014 comedy movie Tim Story directed and Phil Hay wrote with Matt Manfredi.
Hart’s character Ben Barber wants to marry his girlfriend Angela Payton (Tika Sumpter) who is the sister of Ica Cube’s character James. James takes Ben to a ride along and tests him in hot waters in a deal with a drug lord.
With a $25 million budget, Ride Along made $154 million worldwide but was not liked by the critics. This guaranteed the 2016 sequel Ride Along 2 , which madew $125 million worldwide wth a budget of $40 million. Tim Story just revealed to The Wrap that Hay and Manfredi are already working to develop the script for Ride Along 3. Hart and Cube are expected to come back of course. Story made the following statement about the subject:
“We’re writing the script right now, we’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin [Hart] and Ice Cube back together because they are the greatest odd couple in the world. I’m impatiently waiting for a script to be given to me. We have some great ideas.”
