It has been a long time since we saw comedian Zach Braff on TV, on his own show to be exact. Well, some good news here! He is coming back with a new show that he will star in and direct. As you know, his last one, medical comedy show named Scrubs was a big success.
The new show named Start Up will be broadcast on ABC, where the last two seasons of Zach Braff’s Scrubes were shown. The new series was described by Alex Blumberg during his podcast as:
“a show about all the things that happen — the good, the bad and the ugly — when a guy (Braff) in his mid-30s with a wife and two kids makes the crazy decision to quit his good job and dive into the brave new world of starting a business.”
Considering ABC went into a bidding war and actually bought Start Up’s pilot, we can safely assume that the show will be picked up. Some name change might happen though, since there is another TV show with the same name on Crackle. Braff will also act as the show’s co-executive producer Start Up with former Scrubs executive producer Matt Tarses.
Since Start Up will be a podcast adaptation, it will be very interesting to see how it turns out on TV. Fingers crossed for Zach Braff for now, we hope he delivers as well as he did in Scrubs.
